Welcome to Our School
As people of African descent in the diaspora, we are committed to creating a more equitable community for today and future generations. We acknowledge the works of those who come before us and the resilience and strength of our ancestors and are committed to paving the way for the next generation.
Land Acknowledgement
The Land acknowledgement is only meaningful if we are to learn from history and the long journeys and struggles that have brought all of us together where we are at the moment. It is made meaningful when we hold ourselves and each other collectively responsible and accountable to Indigenous peoples of this Land (George Sefa Dei, 2018)
As an organization that is invested in Afrocentric education and anti-racism education, we acknowledge that we are uninvited guests on Treaty 4 territory, the original territories of the Nehiyawak, Saultaux, Lakota, Nakoda, and Dakota, and the homeland of the Metis Nations. We are committed to working towards reconciliation and acknowledging the works of Indigenous people of this land.
